Carrick Rangers defeated Larne in Tuesday night's rearranged Irish Cup 5th round tie at Inver Park, and will now host top-flight Institute in the next round.

The fixture had initially been postponed ten days previously due to a serious head injury sustained by Larne's Scott Irvine, who has since been recovering in hospital. All proceeds from the rearranged game went towards Scott and his family.

Miguel Chines gave the visitors the lead from the spot in the 38th minute when Aidan Watson was tripped in the area, but the hosts equalised twenty minutes after the break when James McCabe converted the rebound after Gerard Reynolds' initial effort had been saved.

Championship Player of the Month Conor McCloskey won the game fifteen minutes from time, powering home a header from Ryan Kane's cross.
