Glentoran caught the imagination as they made a sensational move to sign Spanish striker Nacho Novo, formerly of Glasgow Rangers.
The 37-year-old looks set to be joined by midfielder Eric Foley, who recently parted company with League of Ireland side Galway United.
He has been on trial with the Glens in recent friendly matches and the club are set to offer the 26-year-old a year-long deal to make him their seventh addition of a busy summer.
Meanwhile, Linfield have completed the signing of defender Chris Casement from Portadown. Casement, who left the Blues in 2012, returns to Windsor Park after four years in Mid Ulster, signing a two-year deal.
One player leaving Linfield is goalkeeper Ross Glendinning who joins Ballymena United on a season-long loan deal. Glendinning slipped down the pecking order at Linfield this summer following the arrival of Roy Carroll, while Gareth Deane has been trusted as deputy to the international goalkeeper.
Portadown have completed a deal with goalkeeper Chris McGaughey, the former Lurgan Blues youth graduate recently spent time in the US and is also a keen GAA player.
