Northern Ireland international Paddy McNair has agreed to join Sunderland in a permanent move from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old has made 27 appearances for the Red Devils since being given his debut by Louis Van Gaal in September 2014, and will move to Sunderland alongside Donald Love.

The Ballyclare-native will sign a four-year contract at the Stadium of Light and the fee for the duo is in the region of £6 million, with McNair representing the majority of the amount.

United favoured a loan move for McNair, but the North East club were keen for the move to be permanent.

McNair will link up with former United boss David Moyes, who replaced Sam Allardyce at the club last month.
