Linfield will sign striker Kevin Amuneke after the Nigerian agreed a short-term deal for the club after a successful trial period.

Amuneke has turned out for Ballynure OB in the Intermediate League after penning a deal with them in the summer and his performances have led to interest from several top flight clubs, with David Healy's men acting first.

The 30-year-old has played for a host of European clubs, notably including FC Porto, Vitoria Setubal and CSKA Sofia (whom he joined for £400,000), but has since relocated to Northern Ireland where after briefly taking a break from football, was persuaded back into the game by Ballynure.

"Very proud as Ballynure manager to confirm Kevin Amuneke's transfer to Linfield FC," Burns wrote on Facebook.

"Huge opportunity for Kevin to get back to the top level and I know everyone at the club wishes him the very best. "The transfer will see Ballynure meet Linfield FC at Windsor Park in the summer. Best of luck, Kev."

Kevin - who's brother Emmanuel played for Barcelona and is a former African footballer of the year - will add firepower to the Blues attack as they attempt to win this season's Irish Premiership.
