Barry Gray has been named as the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association's Manager of the Month for January.

The County Down side began the month with a draw away to Cliftonville before securing impressive wins over Coleraine, Portadown and Glentoran to extend their unbeaten run in the league to six matches.

The run of form is particularly impressive as it followed on from Warrenpoint claiming only four points from their opening 19 league games, and the recent form has brought them to with four points of 9th-placed Ballinamallard.

Star striker Daniel Hughes departed for Cliftonville at the start of the month, but a combined six goals from loanees from the Reds - Martin Murray and Johnny McMurray - and three in a month from former Armagh striker Stephen Murray, has brought Point back into contention.
