Glentoran are set to lose right full-back Ryan O'Neill for the rest of the season after the defender confirmed he is moving to the United States for six months.

The news - which comes on the same day that defender Jimmy Callacher wants to swap the Glens for Linfield - is set to be a massive blow to the club who do not currently possess a large first team squad.

O'Neill is expected to return for Glentoran in pre-season next summer, but in the meantime the club are in the market for new faces as they now lack strength in numbers.

The full-back only signed for the club in July from Dungannon Swifts, having previously been on the books of West Ham United and Barnet.
