Less than 48 hours after their dramatic Europa League playoff defeat to Cliftonville, Glentoran have announced that a total of ten players are on their way out of the club.

None of Aaron Hogg, Stephen McCullough, Francis McCaffrey, Niall Henderson and Dale Patton will have their contracts renewed, while Danny McKee has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The club have also revealed that David Scullion, Calum Birney, Conor McMenamin and Kristian Gibson have been made available to other clubs.

The cost-cutting exercise is a result of the club missing out on European football and a six-figure windfall.

Many rival clubs in the top flight will be alerted by these moves, particularly around centre-half Calum Birney's availability - both Crusaders and Glenavon have previously made inquires for the coveted defender's signature.
