Linfield have taken out-of-contract striker Christian Nadé on trial as they attempt to bolster their attacking options.

Nadé netted seven goals in 12 appearances for Dumbarton in last season's Scottish Championship and the Blues are confident that he has the firepower to potentially bring the Irish Premiership title back to Windsor Park.

The 31-year-old netted a hat-trick against Alloa and also scored the winner against Hibs, goals which helped keep Dumbarton in the second tier.

Nadé is a free agent again after his short-term contract with the Sons expired at the end of the season, and the Windsor Park side are keen to have a closer look at him. Dumbarton boss Stevie Aitken said that any talks over a contract renewal 'are dead'.

Other clubs are interested in his availability, including Greenock Morton.

Nade's previous clubs include Le Havre, Sheffield United, Hearts, Dundee and Hamilton Academical.

Striker Guy Bates was released from Linfield earlier this month after only a year at Windsor Park, while goalkeeper Roy Carroll is the only summer arrival thus far, although more signings are expected.
