Tributes have been paid to a young Northern Ireland fan who died following a fall in Nice.

Darren Rodgers, 24, was reportedly on his own when he fell around eight metres from a promenade onto a rocky beach.

Fans of both Northern Ireland and Poland went together to pay their respects at the spot at which Darren fell in Nice, where the two teams had played on Sunday.

Meanwhile, there was also tributes paid by fans of the Republic of Ireland, who in the 24th minute of their clash with Poland commenced a round of applause with chants of 'Stand Up for the Ulsterman'.


A host of the Northern Ireland stars also took to social media to state their grievance at the news.
